The Auburn Ski Club Summer Fun Runs are great personal or family events to get you outdoors, running or walking, and enjoying our beautiful mountain views! Many of you enjoy the downhill Firecracker Trot on the Fourth of July, but Auburn Ski Club hosts two more fun runs this summer. The Truckee Fun Run is an offshoot of the Auburn Ski Club’s Nordic Program which develops and supports fun outdoor events in the off-season. Proceeds support the youth and junior programs, and portions are sometimes donated to support worthy local charities such as the Tahoe Forest Health System, too.

Register for these runs in advance online with a credit card, or see the website for in-person registration information for each race. Enjoy the runs!

The 38th Annual Squaw Mountain Run/Hike

Hundreds of runners and hikers start at the base of Squaw Valley, and climb a course up 3.6 miles to High Camp, ending with music, food, beer, a raffle, and the awards presentation. Participants can choose to run, walk, or Nordic walk uphill, or take the cable car and do an easier Flower Walk.

Pricing varies from $25 to $45 depending on whether you’re buying a junior or adult ticket and how early you register.  20% of funds raised will be donated to The Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation to aid local cancer patients.
